All of Learning Alliances' Professional Development workshops have been designed taking into consideration the latest educational research published in peer-reviewed journals and studies and is continuously updated to reflect the latest relevant research base. The content is updated to include the ESSA District and State Standards, Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS), Next Generation Science Standards such as the Framework for Great Schools, (NGSS), International Society for Technology in Education Standards (ISTE) and Math, Science, and Technology State Standards (MST).
Learning Alliance's job-embedded professional development focuses on linking the attainment of new knowledge and skills with their application in a teacher's classroom practice. Connecting this learning for teachers encourages self-reflection and peer collaboration. To provide arbitrary isolated workshops without the requisite follow up has proven to be ineffective, as stated in the Learning Policy Institute's Effective Teacher Professional Development study. With on-site personalized support, teachers are able to go deeper into the most critical concepts of the Common Core to create classrooms aligned with 21st century skills, using data and building strong collaborative teams of teachers who articulate vertically and horizontally to create powerful learning communities. Our professional development components are correlated with the industry standards Seven Key in front of areas as outlined by Learning Forward's Standards of Professional Learning (2014) (formerly the National Staff Development Council). The essential components of all our professional learning are research-based, time tested, and proven to be effective.
